American Apparel is proud to collaborate with Louise Erhard, a multidisciplinary artist with a diverse aesthetic and humorous approach to her work. Raised in sunny Florida, she moved to Los Angeles in 2012. She attributes much of her artistic upbringing to her father's antique business and attending visual arts charter schools during her middle school and high school years. Louise studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design and lived in New York City soon after. There she delved into printmaking, fabricating displays for department stores and also created a line of cast resin jewelry for the Whitney Museum store. However, it was Louise's handcrafted, found image collages that caught American Apparel's eye, and in 2013 she was commissioned by the brand to create a collage series for an ad campaign. For this collaboration, American Apparel invited Louise to draw and paint her favorite cuisine: Junk Food!
