About the Artist
Alice Könitz is a Los Angeles based artist. Her sculptures often draw on the vernacular of built structures and public spaces. In 2012 Könitz founded the Los Angeles Museum of Art (LAMOA), a combined artist’s project and experimental exhibition venue located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Eagle Rock. LAMOA is a modular wooden space with an open plan and sliding walls, adaptable to a variety of presentations. Könitz invites individual artists to create work specifically for the LAMOA space, playing with the structure’s capabilities and changing its form with each new exhibition.
